|Time||Sugar Reading||Food Eaten||Insulin Units Taken|
|Breakfast||6.6||Weetabix, Skimmed Milk||4|
|Lunch||6.2||Bacon, Eggs, Beans, Wholemeal Meal||4|
|Tea||6.4||Beef Mince, Mashed Potato, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrots, Gravy, Mint Sauce||10|
I woke up a bit higher this morning than what I had planned but nothing bad at 6.6. I took 4 units (instead of the standard 3) with breakfast, but as I had slept in a little I took this into account at lunch when I registered 6.2. I would still have had an hours worth of novorapid in me.
At lunch I made another small adjustment and took 4 units of insulin (the meal is normally 3 units) with a view of going from from 6.2 into the low 5’s by tea time. This did not work and I arrived at 6.4, which is fine but again it just means my planning is out a little. I took 10 units with tea to ensure I was lower than 8 or 9 by 11pm.
This worked as I came in at 7.6 and injected 30 units of glargine before bed. All in all a decent day. I’m still doing well with my food, remaining at under 1600 calories a day and normally in the 1300 and 1500 range. I still need to incorporate more exercise into my routine, which is hard because I really don’t enjoy it, but with summer being quiet for council work I will make that a priority.
