Weird Pokertube Happenings

by Mal on May 21, 2010

I love Pokertube. I have uploaded one video of me and Gareth (tiltdonkey16/G-Dog/Witty) doing commentary over a standard SNG and also a Double or Nothing Turbo that I recorded on my own tonight.

Spoiler Alert: I won both!

The weird thing is that I added a video from Gary Hurst (El Nino 1) about eight months ago under the account “itsawinner”. Logging back in under my normal username and password is the account “mal255″ from which the new videos will appear under. That’s ok I thought it will be my other email address and once I found the account itsawinner I’ll upload the videos there.

Unfortunately………………

EVERY email I have ever had and one of the two passwords I use for everything does not exist on the site, which makes recover my password basically useless. It is like the itsawinner account does not exist…only it does! I have emailed Pokertube but the problem is this is the point they break down. They are a great site but with no proper ‘Contact us’ facility. If they do respond it will be interesting to see what the hell the email I used to sign up for was the itsawinner account because I’ve tried every email I’ve ever used and nothings on except the mal255 account. FML.

Second FML. Pokertube let me upload the 65 megabyte flash file before deciding “Unsupported file type”. Back to the drawing board then. I will then start compressing to .AVI before attacking via Windows Media Player. I’m sure this is the hard way to compress but take this advice, NEVER ask on yahoo answers about video compression. You just get back a load of crap and nothing makes sense. I want to record a video and get it under 100 megabytes so you can still see things clearly. That’s all! Help!

It also takes a while for the site to upload new videos and it would benefit by a ‘we must review submissions we normally update every 24 hours…’ etc. Then again the thing is free and I should not complain. I think I’ve figured out how to do good video so me and Witty are gonna play in some tournaments, freerolls, low stakes cash games and a variety of SNG’s in what may become a regular gig. Gary is, of course, welcome to participate but timing is at a premium especially with his WSOP bracelet win coming up.

I have printed a T Shirt for each of us; Gary will have his shipped ASAP. I also snap purchased an Itsawinner mug, a picture of which will be posted as soon as I get it. A good way of wasting £17.00, but the site is doing well and I want that mug. The next thing on the “Itsawinner wish list” is an awesome microphone.

You will be able to watch the videos on here as I will embed those bad boys on the site as soon as they are available on Pokertube.

Oh, and do you dig the re-design? It took me three hours. Time well spent I think.
