The Maiden Fishy Poker Show

by Mal on June 7, 2010

We take a bi-weekly beating from the regs on Pokertube with our video offering. These videos are meant to be a light-hearted “radio but you can see it” type of show that is more about entertaining you than discussing three-bet ranges on a rainbow board against an opponent with a questionnable avatar! Here is the video.

Observations for next time:

1. We must remember to check the right box in the audio settings to avoid Gareth sound like he is inside a rather large pipe (hopefully a first for G-Dog!)
2. We will aim for a crisper picture, but Gareth pointed out a good idea to make the HUD font a bit bigger. Also we will try with a lighter theme as other videos look better we think with lighter themes!

Enjoy the video and feel free to comment. We enjoy making these and the next one is likely to be featuring a far improved HUD from PokerTracker 3 which we literally spent two hours working on.

This a real ingenius way of finding apeal for the site, would love to know how you guys do it. Plus it provides scope into the game, gets people thinking is fun and provokes users of this site on a personal level.

Hi James

We use teamviewer so one of us can see the other playng, we use Skype to talk to each other, we use BB Flashback recorder to record the window of the poker room with the audio set to record PC Speakers so both audio streams are recorded and we use the exporter in BB Flashback player to get decent compression and picture quality. We are working on getting crisp video quality, but we are not far from optimising it. We do take a bit of stick on pokertube but it is all about educating people on what to expect from our videos. We go for entertainment rather than education, and people are starting to “get it” and enjoy it I think!

Thanks for the kind words (we really like those) Glad we are starting to find our own area of pokertube, we do try to make poker players think about this great game, but we hope as we get better we can share this with other users and poker players.
