Deluded Poker Players Need Stakes

by Mal on March 27, 2010

Some players do not realise they are not that good. The following any was made into the diary of a delusional poker player.

“I thought about approaching a rich friend of mine to stake me into a High Stakes Poker Tournament. I am sick of watching Joe Cada, Jerry Yang, Jamie Gold and others win huge amounts of money playing poker when all they are luckboxes. Surely I am a better player and I am quite lucky, I can do what Elky and Jason Mercier does…I can make money.

I ran this idea past my mate. He pointed out that although I certainly am quite lucky (he has seen my cute face) I have one problem, most staked players have won something before. Small point in my opinion.

He had data-mined me on pokertableratings and seen that I am do not really play cash games apart from one losing session which the site helpfully logged which makes me look rubbish. But I had a counter-punch. Check me out on Sharkscope and I have a 65/100 ability rating and have a $35 lifetime profit in 150 games.

150 games on Sharkscope does not lie. I used to have a small shark thing next to my name which means I’m a great player, not sure where that has gone though.

Why wouldn’t anyone stake me? I’m a sure thing. Scoop!”
