Jimmy Fricke Podcast

Posted by Mal | April 28, 2009 | Posted in: Poker | Comments (0)

I highly recommend checking out a Podcast from Pokerroad.com which is Cash Plays.

They discuss various hands from either their forums or from what is shown on T.V. I particularly enjoyed a discussion with Jimmy Fricke. Jimmy is accused of being a luckbox but thinks on a different level than most players and is truly a talented player.

Click here to visit Poker Road and get the podcast. The discussions will really make you a better player.

The $25,000 WPT Championship Event held at Bellagio, Las Vegas has been won by Yevgeniy Timoshenko, see the below for the final six pay-outs.

1 YEVGENIY TIMOSHENKO $2,149,960
2 Ran Azor $1,446,265
3 Elky Grospellier $776,245
4 Christian Harder $571,965
5 Shannon Shorr $408,550
6 Scotty Nguyen $285,985

Dutch Boyd on his blog picked this guy out as one to watch for the future and it did not take long. Nice one Dutch!

Shannon Shorr is a player whom I read a lot of his blog. Check it out here. He has numerous excellent performances to his name is a bona fide tournament pro.

Raz Azor did particularly well to finish in runner-up after entering the final six with just over $2 million in chips with a very short stack.

A Chat With Joe Hachem

Joe Hachem trash talked his way to $7.5 million in 2005, he followed this up with a WPT win worth over $2.5 million. He is basically an idol of mine. If your gonna win two tournaments then make them worth $10 million!

Check out this great chat with Joe Hachem.

Poker Challenge Update

Posted by Mal | April 19, 2009 | Posted in: Poker | Comments (0)

I am semi-tilting as I write this. I agree that in general banks should protect players when it comes to depositing into online gaming websites. Not every player plays with any real discipline and sometimes need protecting from themselves. I agree with this. But I have had constant problems getting money into Cake Poker and Full Tilt, so much so that I am forced to consider other poker rooms to play at for my poker challenge. Frustrating me completely, because I have my rakeback all sorted out too.

Starting Earning With Poker From $0.00!

Posted by Mal | April 17, 2009 | Posted in: Articles | Comments (0)

Online poker offers opportunity, risk and reward all rolled into one illusive combination. I started playing online poker because I love being on the Internet surfing around but did not really know what to do once I got online. Bored with reading articles, visiting websites about soccer or news I decided to play some online games. One of my friends was playing cards online, and it looked like fun. So I had a go, and instantly there was just something enjoyable about the game.

My Thoughts on Durrr Challenge

Posted by Mal | April 12, 2009 | Posted in: Poker, Professional Players | Comments (2)

I do not claim to have hand-to-hand analysis of the Durrr challenge. But read on for my thoughts on the challenge itself. Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan are involved in a massive 50,000 hand high stakes poker challenge. It is four-tabling $200 / $400 PLO and NL Holdem. Durrr is putting up $1.5 million to Antonius $500,000 that he will be ahead after the alloted 50,000 hands of poker.

Bankroll Management is a term much used in the context of real money player for online poker. As play toughens online this is becoming a necessity for every player. High Stakes Poker Hand Analysis

Posted by Mal | April 9, 2009 | Posted in: Poker | Comments (0)

Pokertube released a video today that is totally amazing. Barry Greenstein discusses a few of the hands from High Stakes Poker. A brilliant 35 minutes. Sound quality could be better but this is top stuff from a brilliant player, and the addition of using the hand replayer makes it compelling listening. I hope the pokertube people do more of these.
